Help Nurture the Next Generation of Outdoor Recreation Professionals

The leaders of the future are today’s students and new professionals. SORP is committed to mentoring the next generation and providing scholarships to NORC is a practical way to help them develop skills and knowledge, as well as build a network.

SORP is you, and you, and you. Here’s how you can help make the future amazing:

  • Donate an auction item. Outdoor gear is always popular or bring a local treat, maybe honey or spirits, or a t-shirt honoring a special place or program. Gift certificates to favorite outdoor retailers and publications are perfect! If you are a maker, bring something to show off your skills.*

  • Buy an auction item. Or two or three. Plan ahead to drop some coin at the auction tables. You can get something you’ve wanted or get something to bring family members when you go home.

  • Contribute to the Scholarship Fund. When you pay for purchases at the auction, you can “round up.” It’s an easy way to make a gift. Heck, plan to round way up.

The Auction Donation Form is fill-out-able and provides you with a receipt** and ship ahead instructions, if you'd like.

Scholarships are awarded to students (undergrad and grad) and to new professionals of all ages. Take a moment to read their bios and memorized their faces so that you can greet them at NORC and become a part of their network of mentors.

* Items between $50-250 are a good fit for our conference. Do consider that most folks are traveling by air, so in this case, size does matter. You might also consider including prepaid shipping if you are providing a large item. You may donate more than one item –yay! – and you can also recruit gifts from like-minded colleagues.

** Items are tax deductible within the limits set by law. Check with your financial advisor for details.
